Joel is already leading with quite a margin

Richard now a close second

Most competitors are now on their way

Some have trouble negotiating the shore break

The field is spread out over a few kms

Matt Robertson's GPS was tracking his movements during the race

Sandringham Life Savers cheking out the action

Luke and Joel are not far behind

Craig Spottiswood 2nd to arrive

Richard Wormald in 3rd position pulling of a perfect forward on his way to the beach (check this vid)

Luke manages to get to the finish a bit quicker, just in front of Joel and Richard

Luke finishes 3rd

Checking the speed on the gps (over 33 knots on the way back)

Brett Lindstrom arriving 15th and is the first and the last to arrive on a twinser (who says twinsers are slow?)

A well deserved rest after battling the harsh conditions

Alex is the first Russian to arrive back from the Beacon

Some competitors barely made it back to the beach (something tels me that Adrian Burridge might be faking it though)
See you this year !
