E- Foil / Foil Assist

Foil assist is gaining traction in most foil disciplines. This is attaching a battery, motor and prop onto your existing foil mast. You then have a control like an electric skateboard which allows you to operate the prop and give yourself an extra burst of power when you need to get on foil.

Foil assists range from light and relatively inexpensive which will help give you a boost onto foil through to heavy and expensive which can be ridden on flat water like an e-foil.

Board selection is critical when using a foil assist as some are not compatable with every board. Also, generally a longer narrower board will compliment the extra boost from a foil assist when in the waves or downwind.
