SPRINT

THE FASTEST GOT EVEN FASTER

  • Less wash and smoother release
  • More stability – allows more power forwards, more comfortable stance.
  • Volume refinements reduce the overall weight
  • Lower and thinner tail means more control when stepping back to turn.
  • 🏅 Arip Purnama won Junior Sprint race at 2023 ICF World’s Championship in Thailand on this board and Andrey Kraytor set the fastest 200m Sprint time – 47.95 sec

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE SHAPE?

— The Sprint concept is designed to be the fastest and most efficient flatwater board ever, and the range of 2024/25 boards caters for flatwater racing and ultra-distance racing.

— In 2024/25 we have achieved a wider and more stable range, while refining the hydrodynamics of the hull design to deliver even more speed and glide.

— With a brand new outline with increased width, the rider has more stability from the mid and nose areas.

— The round, streamline tail design has massively improved efficiency and glide, allowing you to paddle faster for longer with less drag.

— The refined standing cockpit features deep dug out rails so the rider can stand the full width of the board for maximum stability and control.

— New flat cockpit tail area is more comfortable when standing back, and reduces volume for an even lighter board.

›  THIN SLICING NOSE
The ultra-thin nose slices through flatwater conditions and is the most efficient design.

›  STREAMLINE OUTLINE
With a more parallel outline than our previous sprint model, the sprint achieves faster speeds and vastly improved stability.

›  ROUND TAIL
Our most efficient tail design ever reduces wash and improves glide.

›  TAIL VEE
For the best release and tracking in flatwater, giving the best efficiency and control.

›  ROUND HULL DESIGN
Our fastest and most efficient hull design ever has been digitally designed to give the most efficient glide, and tested in the real world in various flat and semi-flat conditions. This hull allows the board to maintain higher speeds over a longer distance.

›  WIDE POINT FURTHER FORWARDS
The inner walls in the Sprint have been shaped for maximum standing area width for comfort, stability and control.

›  VOLUME REDUCTION
The front of the cockpit has been reduced in volume where possible, to achieve a lighter and more open design.

›  FLAT TAIL ANGLE
Comfortable in kick turns and when standing further back, the volume and slope has been reduced at the back of the standing area to achieve a lighter and more comfortable board.

›  RECESSED CARBON SCUPPER SYSTEM
Carbon scuppers sit flat on the bottom of the Sprint, resulting in an even more efficient hull flow. The carbon scupper system is recessed into the board and features a larger hole for even faster water flow from the deck.

›  10” FIN BOX
The 10” fin box gives riders flexibility to adjust their fin depending on race style. Short course racing would benefit from a fin further forward for fast turning, while longer races suit a fin further back in the box. Box placement varies for downwinding as some riders may prefer less or more tracking when surfing bumps.

›  BOARD SOCK
Reduces paper waste while protecting your board from dust, scratches, and UV damage. Made with stretchable polyester, it fits various board shapes. Ensure optimal board maintenance with the iconic blue Board Sock, featuring a secure drawstring closure.

›  EVA RACE DEFLECTOR

Designed for larger ocean chop, the deflector diverts water from entering the standing area.

TESTING THE SPRINT

When it comes to our fastest race board ever, it’s always a difficult task to improve speed, and this year our even bigger challenge was to make a more stable board as well as a faster design.

The narrowest design is 21.5” wide. We have created a new outline with a wider nose outline and more parallel overall outline, giving the board much better balance and even volume distribution throughout the board. This also allowed us to create a wider standing area in the deck for better rider comfort. We also brought this new outline to the 23.5”.

Our pulled in round tail design has vastly improved the efficiency of our hull design, giving off less wash and improving overall speed and handling. We really felt that the round tail gave us a cleaner release with no catching when leaning on the rails of the board.
And volume refinements have been made throughout the board, reducing volume in non critical areas for a lighter and lower volume board without sacrificing speed. At the tail we have reduced the inner deck thickness, this allowed us to have less water trapped in the deck when turning – and water flowed out faster when coming out of turns.

We reduced volume in the forward cockpit area to give the board a more open feel when paddling and reduced weight in this area.

A highlight for the new Sprint range is of course the speed of the board – amazingly we created a faster model than the previous skinnier range, only this time the handling of our Sprint has been vastly improved for much more comfortable performance.
The Sprint is our board of choice for flatwater racing, we particularly enjoyed using the Sprints in longer races. Offering superior glide in an efficient hull design.
