BREAKWATER TO BEACON 18th JAN 2015!!!

SHQ BREAKWATER TO BEACON - SUNDAY 18TH JAN!!!

The famous SHQ Breakwater to Beacon race is on again Sunday 18th Jan 2015.

As usual the race concept is an open event for all competent windsurfers who can sail long distances. As per the event name, we sail from Sandringham Beach (Breakwater left of the Yacht Club), to a mark near Fawkner Beacon and back, about 18kms.

The actual race mark will be set on the day depending on the wind direction and will be outlined during the race briefing at 3pm sharp. Following the race we'll have a BBQ, presentations and giveaways and relive all the action from the day.

Schedule:

Registration will be at Sandringham beach from 1pm until 2:30pm

Briefing will be at 3pm near the registration desk

Race Start will be from beach left of breakwater and depending on the weather will be somewhere between 3:30pm and 4:30pm

BBQ in front of the the SBHQ Kiosk will be after the race.

Thanks Carrie, great article! I am stnrtiag a new project in uncharted waters and your article reminds me to stay flexible and not attach to the outcome. Something even better than I can imagine is possible! It feels very timely with our new season too.

Awesome race SHQ as always. A real pleasure to be a part of it. Well done Foxy (that’s 8 now!) and Arthur for pushing me to sail faster. All three of us under the previous record! I’ll catch ya next time!
See you next year!
